About Emsculpt Neo

Stubborn fat deposits can remain even after a person commits to a regular exercise regimen and eats a healthy diet. People who experience this issue may find these excess fat deposits bothersome, as they may inhibit the figure’s natural curves. These patients may seek body contouring treatments as a result. Surgical measures can include liposuction, abdominoplasty, lifts, and more. Emsculpt Neo is an enhanced version of the original Emsculpt device. Both treatments feature HIFEM pulses to reduce fat and build muscle, and both provide the body with a more defined contour. However, Emsculpt Neo takes the treatment a step further by incorporating RF energy, which allows for enhanced fat-burning and muscle-building. The added RF energy prompts the body’s natural wound-healing response which results in increased collagen production. Collagen is a naturally-occurring protein in the body, but it can decrease or slow in production over time. Stimulating collagen production can improve the look and feel of the skin, making it appear more supple and healthy.

Before your Emsculpt Neo treatment, we will communicate with you a few ways you can prepare for the appointment. These steps often include the following recommendations:

Procedure

As previously mentioned, the procedure for Emsculpt Neo may be repeated once a week, often for 3-4 weeks. We will request that you attend follow-up appointments so that we can check on your progress and answer any questions you may have. ⁽¹⁾ During the procedure, we will make sure you are comfortable while a Refresh professional administers the HIFEM and RF energies via the Emsculpt Neo device. Once we place the Emsculpt Neo device on the treatment area, it is secured into place with velcro straps. Depending on the area and size of the treatment area, your Refresh professional may use one or two Emsculpt Neo devices. The energy levels of the Emsculpt Neo device are customizable, and the procedure for Emsculpt Neo treatments are usually under an hour long. ⁽¹⁾

During the Emsculpt Neo procedure, the HIFEM and RF energies burn fat and build muscle, contributing to a contoured and stronger physique. The HIFEM pulsations work by stimulating the muscles and causing them to contract. They do so by creating electromagnetic currents within the body’s tissue. Meanwhile, RF energy sends electromagnetic waves into the skin in order to heat and penetrate layers of the skin and burn fat. ⁽²⁾

Recovery

Unlike liposuction and other body sculpting procedures, Emsculpt Neo does not require much of a recovery period. You may experience some soreness, the equivalent of an intense workout, but you will not need to take time off work for designated recovery time. In fact, you will be able to return to your normal activities immediately after your Emsculpt Neo procedure. Some patients may experience skin redness in the treatment area. This should usually resolve itself within just a few hours after treatment. The muscles may also feel a bit sore or fatigued the day after a Emsculpt Neo treatment session, but this is often mild and will also resolve without need for any intervention. ⁽¹⁾

Patients can achieve stunning results with Emsculpt Neo treatments. Patients will see a newly contoured figure with an increase in musculature. In one study, patients were able to achieve a 20.5% decrease in fat tissue thickness after one month of receiving the treatment. Meanwhile, these patients were also able to see a 21.5% increase in muscle thickness. ⁽¹⁾ The patients continued to see improvements as the months went on, reaching a 28.3% thickness reduction and a 24.2% increase in muscle thickness after the 3-month mark. ⁽¹⁾
